Rwanda faces a critical challenge: rising drugs and substance abuse, particularly among young people. This threatens individual health, families and the entire community's well-being and social coherence. To address this urgent issue; on 11th June 2024 with the support from WHO Rwanda, YESI Rwanda launched a a 5-year comprehensive Substance Abuse Reduction Project called Youth Drug And Substance Abuse Reduction (YDSAR) In Burera District, Northern Province
The project was launched at La Pailotte Hotel with over 300 participants including WHO Rwanda and NGOs Representatives, YESI Rwanda members, students, and youth representatives, local government officials ( including District mayor and Governor of Northern Province) and religious leaders.
